The Senior Legal Counsel will provide thoughtful legal advice and support to Analysis Group's consultants and administrative teams. This position will handle a diverse range of legal matters and will involve working closely with both internal consultants and external clients. You will work independently with the goal of providing timely and practical legal guidance to support the firm's needs. This position will require sound judgment and critical thinking. You will be asked to work on a wide variety of legal issues, and you will be challenged to find creative and innovative legal solutions to further the important and impactful work for our clients.
Responsibilities
- Contracts – Work independently in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide variety of agreements with clients and vendors, including engagement letters, IT vendor agreements, consulting agreements, collaboration agreements, data license agreements, confidentiality agreements, master services agreements, and statements of work. This includes working collaboratively with consulting and administrative teams (Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology and Information Security) regarding contractual obligations.
- General In-House Advice – Provide practical legal advice to consulting staff on a diverse range of topics to balance risk and business need. This work may involve legal research regarding evolving issues and collaborating on long-term projects pertaining to issues that are a priority for the firm.
- Risk Management – Assist in risk management on a firm-wide basis, including in emerging fields like AI. Work on improvement of certain business processes with an eye for increasing efficiency and reducing risk to the firm.
- Manage Outside Counsel – Engage and manage outside counsel as needed to provide timely and practical advice on specific legal issues.
Qualifications
- JD required.
- Minimum of five years of legal experience required.
- An ideal candidate will have six to eight years of substantive relevant experience.
- Experience independently drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex agreements.
- A combination of law firm and in-house experience is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent judgment and ability to tailor advice to specific circumstances.
- Strong analytical, strategic, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Experience with litigation support, AI vendors, pharmaceutical research, and/or data privacy matters is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Pay
- Estimated salary range: $240,000–$270,000. Compensation offered will be based on a number of factors including work experience, education, and skill level.
- This role is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus that is determined in large part by individual performance.
