Senior Lead Plumbing Engineer (Buildings)
Who You Are
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Plumbing or Mechanical Engineering, or closely related discipline.
- 10+ years of relevant post-education experience in engineering discipline and prior plumbing and mechanical design experience.
- Engineer license required (multi-state preferred).
- Comprehensive knowledge and interpretation of code compliance requirements and industry standards.
- Strong organizational, prioritization, decision making and analytical skills.
- Possess strong verbal, written, analytical, persuasive and interpersonal skills.
- Effective business development skills.
- Able to work independently with minimum supervision and in a highly collaborative team environment.
- Able to consistently set goals and meet deadlines and adapt to flexible responsibilities.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit software.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
- Experience with Horizon or Project Resource Management software is desired.
- Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training desired.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Engineering.
- LEED certification desired.
- 40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) (29 CFR 1910.120) preferred.
Your Impact
- Develop and evaluate system concepts and options to determine best design and engineering solution for each project based upon project scope.
- Develop design drawings and specifications plumbing and fire protection systems including calculations of preliminary water, gas, sanitary/sewer and storm loads while adhering to the firm’s QA/QC process.
- Interface with clients to discuss changes to designs and/or specifications.
- Perform systems analysis and prepare reports and studies as well as cost estimates.
- Directly responsible for distribution of all approved drawings and specifications.
- Coordinate with other design team members including architect, and mechanical and structural engineers to ensure plumbing and fire protection systems are integrated with all trades.
- Examine field conditions as required to support development and completion of projects.
- Attend meetings with architects, owners and building managers to discuss future and or current projects.
- Work with leadership to manage design manpower budget and update budget to reflect revisions or changes in scope.
- Represent the company in a professional manner in all dealings with owners, architects, vendors, other design professionals and contractors.
- Responsible for meeting the client’s project goals and objectives.
- Aid in business development by pursuing new work including participation in client presentations.
- Aid in the firm’s human resource efforts through training and mentoring junior firm members.
- Enhances the firm’s reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing internal and external client requests.
- Updates job knowledge and technical expertise by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, participating in technical organizations and obtaining certifications in area of expertise and participating in the firm’s Technical Committee as requested.

About the Role
This Opportunity WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Lead Plumbing Engineer for our New York, NY office location to work with our Northeast Property & Buildings Region.

Requirements
Plans and conducts work requiring judgment regarding the independent evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria.
Qualifications
Successfully completes small to medium engineering projects by organizing and controlling project elements.
Skills
Works closely with the Project Managers (PM) or Senior Project Engineers for technical review and guidance.

Expected Salary: $133,400- $198,220
