Discover your exciting role The Senior Lead Mechanical Engineer participates in a collaborative team environment consisting of engineers and designers to develop construction documents and provide engineering support for HVAC wet and dry systems, plumbing, process piping, controls, and related mechanical systems. This role is responsible for leading complex engineering projects, providing technical direction and mentorship to project teams, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards, and delivering high-quality engineering solutions that meet client, project, and business objectives. The Senior Lead Mechanical Engineer serves as a subject matter expert throughout all phases of project execution, from conceptual design through construction support and project completion. Explore Your Tasks And Responsibilities Performs engineering tasks for the design of utilities and HVAC (wet/dry) systems for high technology facilities including cleanrooms, general manufacturing/process facilities and institutional facilitiesPrepares mechanical engineering calculations in support of HVAC systems design including heat load calculations, duct sizing, chilled water hydraulics, static pressure calculations, equipment sizing and selectionPlans and schedules discipline deliverables and activities including man-hour estimation, assigning personnel, and supervision of discipline personnel on the ProjectsDevelops manpower and labor cost requirements for a project and monitor them to aid in evaluating project schedule and budgetProvides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff’s specific area of expertiseDevelops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by discipline teamDevelops of conceptual design, preliminary design and final design documents which would include calculations related to sizing and selecting of these systems, the development of Process and InstrumentationDiagrams, general arrangements and sequences of operation associated with these systemsWorks closely in coordination with the project team and other disciplines as well as other design officesCoordinates with disciplines in the preparation and development of the deliverables and ensuring those other disciplines’ inputs are incorporatedWorks to build and maintain positive and productive working relationships both internal and externalProvides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirementsOther duties as assigned Show Your Expertise Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering requiredProfessional Engineer (PE) License requiredNation Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) Record preferred10+ years of experienceGood time management skills, strong work ethic and attention to detailsIndividual must possess strong communication and organizational skillsStrong team player with an ability to build effective working relationships with individuals, department leads, and client representativesEnergetic and self-motivatedWorks to build and maintain positive and productive working relationships both internal and externalThorough knowledge of codes and common industry standards related to the design of industrial and manufacturing facilities and systemsWorking knowledge of Microsoft productsAbility to mentor and train junior staffAdvanced Technology experience preferredExperience with Autodesk Building Systems SoftwareConsulting engineering experience preferredExperience working within a team environmentExperience in the quality control review processExperience contributing to continuous improvement processes Contact You want to be part of the Exyte team?
