About This Role

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Lead Finance Analyst to provide financial leadership for Branch Distribution Strategy and Transformation initiatives. This role partners with senior business and finance leaders to develop, evaluate, and challenge complex business cases supporting branch expansion, optimization, and other strategic investment decisions across the branch network. The position requires strong financial acumen, strategic thinking, and executive influence, while also providing leadership, coaching, and direction to a team of finance professionals focused on distribution strategy and investment planning.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, evaluation, and governance of complex business cases, financial forecasts, investment analyses, and scenario models that support branch network investments, distribution strategy, expansion opportunities, consolidations, and optimization initiatives.
  • Partner closely with senior business, finance, strategy, and real estate leaders to assess growth opportunities, capital investment priorities, and long-term strategic initiatives, providing data-driven insights and recommendations that influence enterprise decision-making.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor by independently challenging business assumptions, evaluating risks and sensitivities, and ensuring investment proposals are supported by sound financial analysis and aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, mentorship, and day-to-day work direction to a team of Lead and Senior Finance Analysts, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, collaboration, and analytical excellence.
  • Monitor and evaluate actual investment performance against approved business cases, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities to improve returns, optimize capital deployment, and enhance business outcomes.
  • Lead highly visible cross-functional initiatives involving Finance, Strategy, Real Estate, Operations, and other enterprise partners, balancing multiple priorities while driving execution and delivering results.
  • Review and validate team deliverables to ensure consistency, accuracy, analytical rigor, and adherence to established financial methodologies, governance standards, and reporting requirements.
  • Drive enhancements to financial models, forecasting processes, investment evaluation frameworks, reporting capabilities, and decision-support tools to improve efficiency, transparency, and strategic value.
  • Present complex financial concepts, investment recommendations, and performance insights to senior executives, translating analytical findings into clear, actionable business strategies.
  • Exercise independent judgment and strategic thinking to solve complex business challenges, influence stakeholders across the organization, and support the successful execution of Wells Fargo's branch distribution and transformation strategy.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of Finance experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, or education.
  • 7+ years of experience developing complex financial models, forecasts, and business cases to support strategic investment decisions, delivering data-driven analysis and executive-level recommendations.
  • Proven leadership experience managing, mentoring, and developing finance professionals within high-performing teams.
  • Extensive expertise in building, reviewing, and challenging complex business cases related to capital investments, growth initiatives, network optimization, real estate strategy, and other long-term strategic investments.
  • Advanced financial planning, forecasting, modeling, and investment analysis capabilities, including measuring investment performance and driving accountability for business outcomes.
  • Strong executive presence with a demonstrated ability to partner with senior leaders on strategic planning, capital allocation, and key business decisions.
  • Proven ability to influence decision-making, challenge assumptions, and deliver data-driven recommendations that drive business results.
  • Experience leading large-scale, cross-functional initiatives involving multiple stakeholders, competing priorities, and complex organizational dynamics.
  • Knowledge of branch banking economics, distribution strategy, network planning, commercial real estate, site selection, and capital planning is highly desirable.
  • Ability to balance strategic vision with operational execution while achieving results in a fast-paced, highly matrixed environment.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex financial concepts to executive audiences.
  • MBA, CPA, FPAC, or other relevant advanced degree or professional certification preferred.
