Senior Lead Data Architect

About the role

As an Information Architect, you will collaborate with product owners, business subject-matter experts, and technical teams to design and implement robust data solutions that meet current and future business needs.

Responsibilities

• Work with product owners and business SMEs to understand functional and data requirements, building Logical Data Models that reflect these requirements and enable technologists to create fit-for-purpose solutions.
• Expand and mature the content of Business Information Models by leveraging analysis and modeling from implementations.
• Ensure best-practice data modeling standards and guidelines are followed in Business Information Models and implementation Logical Data Models by collaborating with Information Architecture leadership.
• Engage technical teams and business stakeholders to discuss and propose information architecture approaches that address both current and future needs.
• Identify opportunities to intersect with other Data Management functions to improve metadata, consistency of definitions, and end-to-end data lifecycle management.
• Participate in information architecture governance bodies, evaluating recommendations and providing feedback to stakeholders.
• Execute creative information architecture solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting, thinking beyond routine approaches to solve problems.
• Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate the remediation of recurring issues.
• Facilitate evaluation sessions of data models with stakeholders to drive positive outcomes through probing functional and data requirements, definitions, and validation rules.
• Contribute to a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.

Requirements

• Degree in Computing Science or a related field, or relevant experience.
• 10+ years of experience as an Information or Data Architect.
• Hands-on practical experience delivering Logical Data Models.
• Hands-on experience with Logical Data Modeling tools.
• Hands-on experience with Business and Data Analysis techniques.
• CDMP Certification (Certified Data Management Professional) or another data management-related certification.
• Exposure to Industry Data Models and experience building Common Data Models.
• Advanced knowledge of architecture and exposure to other Data Management functional areas.
• Proficiency in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems.
• Advanced knowledge of one or more software, application, and architecture disciplines.
• Ability to evaluate current and emerging technologies to recommend optimal information architecture solutions for future state architecture.

Preferred Qualifications

• Working knowledge of MagicDraw, Erwin, or other data modeling tools.
• Knowledge of UML and ER modeling methods.
• Knowledge of Wholesale Payments business.
• Knowledge of Domain-Driven Design.
