Senior Lead Data Architect
About the role
Work with product owners and business SMEs to understand functional and data requirements for implementations in order to build Logical Data Models that reflect requirements and can be used by technologists to build solutions that are fit for purpose.
Actively looks to expand and mature the content of the Business Information Models by leveraging analysis and modelling done on implementations. Engage with Information Architecture leadership to ensure best practice data modelling standards & guidelines are followed by BIMs and implementation LDMs.
Engage technical teams and business stakeholders to discuss and propose information architecture approaches to meet current and future needs. Identify opportunities to intersect with other Data Management functions to improve metadata, consistency of definitions, and end-to-end data lifecycle management.
Participate in information architecture governance bodies, evaluate recommendations, and provide feedback to stakeholders. Execute creative information architecture solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with the ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches.
Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues. Facilitate evaluation sessions of data models with relevant stakeholders to drive positive outcomes through probing of functional & data requirements, definitions, and validation rules. Contribute to a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
Responsibilities
- Build Logical Data Models that reflect business and data requirements.
- Expand and mature Business Information Models through analysis and modelling.
- Ensure adherence to data modelling standards and guidelines.
- Propose information architecture approaches for current and future needs.
- Improve metadata, consistency of definitions, and data lifecycle management.
- Participate in governance bodies and evaluate architecture recommendations.
- Design and develop creative information architecture solutions.
- Automate remediation of recurring issues.
- Facilitate stakeholder sessions to validate data models and requirements.
Requirements
- Degree in Computing Science or related field, or relevant experience.
- 10+ years' experience as an Information or Data Architect.
- Hands-on experience delivering Logical Data Models.
- Proficiency with Logical Data Modelling Tools.
- Experience with Business & Data Analysis techniques.
- CDMP Certification (Certified Data Management Professional) or related certification.
- Exposure to Industry Data Models and building Common Data Models.
- Advanced knowledge of architecture and other Data Management functional areas.
- Proficiency in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
- In-depth knowledge of financial services industry IT systems.
- Advanced knowledge of software, application, or architecture disciplines.
- Ability to evaluate current and emerging technologies for future-state architecture.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of MagicDraw, Erwin, or other data modelling tools.
- Knowledge of UML & ER modelling methods.
- Knowledge of Wholesale Payments business.
- Knowledge of Domain Driven Design.
