This role is a key step in your technical career, offering the opportunity to develop high-quality architecture solutions for software applications on modern cloud-based technologies within Consumer Banking – Customer Authentication (Trust & Security).

Responsibilities

  • Engage technical teams and business stakeholders to discuss and propose technical approaches for Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM), including customer authentication, authorization, and identity lifecycle capabilities.
  • Define the technical target state of CIAM products and drive the strategy for CIAM platforms and services, including secure customer login and authentication journeys across channels.
  • Participate in architecture governance bodies focusing on CIAM architecture standards, security controls, and risk alignment.
  • Evaluate and provide feedback on new technologies relevant to CIAM (e.g., IAM protocols and standards such as OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML; CIAM platforms; identity proofing; risk-based authentication; and cloud-native identity services).
  • Execute creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with a focus on CIAM, including authentication flows, token/session management, and integration patterns.
  • Develop secure and high-quality production code, and review and debug code written by others for CIAM components and integrations, ensuring strong security, privacy, and compliance outcomes.
  • Leverage enterprise-authorized AI capabilities to accelerate architecture analysis and decisioning, with human-in-the-loop validation and appropriate handling of sensitive data.
  • Establish reuse-first AI-enabled engineering patterns and governance across SDLC/toolchain practices, ensuring traceability, auditability, resiliency, and security controls.
  • Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve operational stability of software applications and systems supporting CIAM and customer authentication workloads.
  • Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for CIAM solutions and identity/security tooling.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in architecture, system design, and engineering delivery, including CIAM / Identity and Access Management solutions.
  • Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability for large-scale, customer-facing identity and authentication platforms.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages and practical cloud-native experience supporting identity and authentication workloads.
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, AI, machine learning, mobile) with direct applicability to CIAM and customer authentication.
  • In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems, including security, privacy, and regulatory expectations impacting customer identity.
  • Ability to evaluate and integrate AI-enabled capabilities into enterprise-grade architectures while meeting resiliency, security, and auditability requirements.
  • Experience applying enterprise-authorized AI capabilities in architecture and engineering workflows with strong validation habits and awareness of data sensitivity.
  • Advanced knowledge of CIAM architecture patterns and IAM protocols/standards (e.g., OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML; CIAM platforms; identity proofing; risk-based authentication; and cloud-native identity services).
  • Ability to evaluate current and emerging technologies to recommend solutions for the future state architecture of CIAM platforms and customer authentication capabilities.

Skills

  • Experience with CIAM platforms and tools (e.g., Okta, Auth0, ForgeRock) is preferred.
  • Experience supporting mobile channels and mobile application ecosystems; iOS experience is a plus.
  • Certifications in identity and access management or related fields (e.g., CISSP, CISM) are preferred.

Benefits

  • Competitive total rewards package including base salary, commission-based pay, and/or discretionary incentive compensation.
  • Comprehensive health care coverage, on-site health and wellness centers.
  • Retirement savings plan, backup childcare, tuition reimbursement.
  • Mental health support, financial coaching, and more.
