Programming - Unreal Engine

Epic Games is searching for an experienced Senior Language Programmer to join our Verse team. The Verse team owns the toolchain (compiler, VM, and runtime) powering game development in Unreal Engine and UEFN. The role involves extending and evolving the Verse compiler toolchain and VM, implementing new language features, integrating the toolchain into Unreal Engine's content, build, and cooking pipelines, optimizing performance, memory usage, and iteration times across the Verse toolchain and UE/Verse boundary, establishing test workflows to validate improvements and prevent regressions, and driving integration work in close collaboration with programmers from the Verse Language team and the broader Unreal Engine programming organization.

What We're Looking For

  • Excellent knowledge of C++17 or later
  • Experience in profiling and optimizing large codebases
  • Strong ability to reason about large, interconnected systems
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across programming teams
  • Ability to work autonomously and deliver practical solutions independently
  • Strength in compiler and VM internals or Unreal Engine integration (experience in both is a plus)
