About the role

The Senior Landfill Engineer is responsible for overseeing the operation and maintenance of landfill facilities to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations and maintenance of landfill facilities
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards
• Develop and implement waste management strategies
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address operational challenges

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in landfill engineering or related field
• Knowledge of landfill design, operation, and maintenance
• Experience with environmental compliance and regulatory requirements
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
• Experience with landfill gas collection and utilization systems
• Knowledge of landfill leachate treatment and disposal methods
• Experience with landfill closure and post-closure care

Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with landfill modeling software
