Senior Land Design Civil Engineer

About the role

Kleinfelder, a Forbes' Top Employer for Engineers in North America, is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Land Design Engineer to join our southeast engineering team. This role offers expanding opportunities in the region and a variety of clients.

Responsibilities

• Complete civil engineering designs and generate professional plans and specifications, technical calculations, exhibits, and reports in areas such as Site Layout, Grading, Storm Drainage, Water & Sewer Utilities, Erosion and Sediment Control, Storm Water Best Management Practices, and various Civil 3D Plans.
• Create and maintain 3D models and technical deliverables.
• Evaluate design to address constructability, municipal code, and site challenges.
• Coordinate with architects, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineers.
• Perform site visits for job scoping and coordination with survey crews, SUE, geotechnical, and other specialists.
• Support clients during the construction phase by reviewing RFIs, shop drawings, conducting field inspections, and more.

Requirements

• Required: Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering.
• Prior experience in civil engineering, particularly in traditional industrial/commercial land development, solar, and mining.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, HydroCAD, WaterCAD, and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Preferred: Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain within 6 months.
