About the role

The Senior Land Agent serves as a lead company liaison with landowners, contractors, other companies, and federal, state, and local governmental agencies to support the company’s ongoing Midstream projects. Responsibilities include overseeing negotiations of pipeline rights of ways, easements, leases, and fee property acquisitions, settling damage claims, managing contract staff, and other tasks as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a team lead for all land agents, associate land agents, and senior land agents positions.
  • Oversees negotiations of pipeline rights of ways, easements, leases, access roads, and fee property acquisitions.
  • Manages contract staff on day-to-day operations and reviews invoices.
  • Tracks land acquisitions metrics, including financial tracking and performance.
  • Affords and settles damage claims, problems, or inquiries while representing the company in a positive manner.
  • Captures and coordinates activities connected with real property interests throughout the life cycle of a project.
  • Collaborates with GIS for the preparation of exhibit drawings.
  • Acts as a company liaison with landowners, other companies, and governmental agencies at the federal, state, and local levels as required to support project requirements.
  • Drafts a variety of land-related business agreements.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years' land-related oil and gas experience or significant land experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • IRWA and/or AAPL membership(s).
  • Leadership experience.

Other Qualifications

  • Strong working knowledge of land and real property matters, including oil and gas, legal descriptions, basic title regulations, legal terminology, basic real property law, and the ability to read and understand contracts and agreements.
  • Ability to work in a team environment to accomplish organizational goals, meet, and exceed deadlines.
  • Empathetic, even-tempered, with excellent interpersonal 'people' skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both in speech and writing, with members at all levels throughout the organization, outside professionals, customers, and contractors.
  • Proficiency in using a computer with MS Office Suite and related applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and SAP).

Physical Demands

To properly perform the integral functions of this job, the employee is required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, reach, talk, hear, grasp, and carry objects. The employee in this classification will be required to frequently lift objects of up to 10 pounds in weight. Vision requirements for this position include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Requires ability to travel, occasionally with little to no notice. May be required to work non-standard hours.
