Senior Associate, Land Agent

Key Responsibilities
- Negotiate and obtain signed lease, easement, and/or option agreements.
- Contact landowners via various methods to inform them of project specifics, educate them about renewable energy, and review and execute agreements.
- Document all interactions with landowners in Salesforce and line lists.
- Study local permitting and governmental ordinances and be knowledgeable about current events and community-centric topics.
- Utilize GIS-based software tools to note features of interest and identify micro-site prospective projects.
- Support external land agents by resolving challenges and attending meetings and events.
- Visit FOIs and provide photographs and GPS coordinates.
- Attend landowner dinners, open houses, fairs, and other community activities.
- Participate in important or interesting town or county government meetings.
Requirements
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Earth Maps, online land records systems, and Adobe PDF.
- Able to travel and work outside of normal business hours.
- Experience using influence rather than authority to achieve desired outcomes.
- Ability to work proactively and productively in a collaborative team environment.
- Able to maintain information confidentiality and handle with discretion.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- 3-5 years of renewable energy land acquisition experience.
- Experience with Salesforce, Esri platforms, Asana, Clarizen, Wrike, or similar project management software.
- AAPL or International Right of Way Association member, training, and/or credentials.
- Education and certifications in business, marketing, political science, geography, agricultural sciences, or environmental sciences.
Timeline and Location
The target start date for this role is early August 2025, pending successful reference and background checks. Our ideal candidate will be based out of our office in Boulder, CO. We will consider remote candidates who are based in Des Moines, IA, Chicago, IL, Springfield, IL, or Boulder, CO, and are open to monthly travel to the Boulder office.
