Job Summary

The Senior Laboratory Technician performs tests, experiments, and analyses in a laboratory setting or provides support for laboratory activities. Skilled in multiple laboratory techniques or testing areas.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform routine laboratory testing or laboratory support per Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)
  • Calibrate and maintain laboratory instrumentation and equipment
  • Manage inventory for required operating materials
  • Ensure strict adherence to all Quality Management System (QMS) requirements
  • Ensure strict adherence to all Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Management System requirements
  • Effectively manage all assigned tasks to ensure completion by established due dates
  • Provide support for other laboratory areas and complete additional tasks as assigned
  • Works under the direction of technical leaders

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Required

  • Knowledgeable in laboratory safety, chemical handling, scientific concepts, and analytical testing equipment
  • Proficiency in multiple laboratory techniques and testing areas
  • Demonstrated expertise in productivity software including Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Skills in implementing process improvements
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well within a team environment
  • Ability to thrive in a high-volume laboratory testing environment

Preferred

  • Developing skills in two or more of the following areas: spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, spectrophotometry, microscopy, electrochemistry, filtrations, extractions, gravimetry, metallography, or chromatography

Education & Experience

Required

  • Associate's degree or equivalent in Chemistry or related scientific field
  • 3+ years analytical laboratory experience using state-of-art analytical instrumentation or techniques

Preferred

  • B.S. or B.A. degree in Chemistry or related scientific field
  • 5+ years analytical laboratory experience using state-of-art analytical instrumentation or techniques
  • Experience using a LabWare or similar LIMS
  • Experience working in an ISO 9001 (or similar) certified organization
