About the role

Chemours is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our growing Advanced Performance Materials team at our Newark, DE location. This key role is responsible for operating battery laboratory equipment and materials processing.

Responsibilities

  • Lab and pilot scale operation of handling, weighing, mixing, and processing of various chemicals.
  • Perform activities including assembling, monitoring & basic analysis of electrochemical devices such as lithium ion battery cells.
  • Safe execution of lab work of wet chemistry experiments using corrosive, toxic, and flammable chemicals.
  • Documenting and auditing specific operating, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Troubleshooting mechanical processes, controls, analytical, or laboratory issues.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 1 - 2 years of laboratory experience preferably in chemistry.
  • Fine motor skills to perform small, delicate & detailed tasks.
  • Excellent record keeping and notebook skills are required.
  • Ability to read and understand complex Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Self-motivation, able to work independently to complete given tasks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications with a focus on data entry, such as Word, Excel, SharePoint.
  • Ability to wear an air-line respirator, work in close quarters, and climb ladders/steps donned in full PPE.
  • Able to lift 45 lbs. and move drums/containers using correct ergonomic methods.

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with using glove box, electrochemical devices.
  • Associates degree or higher in electrochemistry or chemistry, or 3+ years related industrial experience.

  • Good organizational skills.

Pay

$29.40 - $45.94 per hour
Chemours Level 22 Annual Bonus Target 4%
