Senior Laboratory Technician
About the Role
As a Lab Tech Professional, you will perform vital clinical laboratory procedures to detect, identify, measure, and report data crucial for disease diagnosis and treatment. Every day, you will expertly conduct waived and moderate procedures using technical skills, instrumentation, and information systems, providing essential clinical laboratory support while ensuring the quality and accuracy of all tests under leadership direction.
You will ensure a professional and responsive atmosphere by greeting patients, visitors, staff, and physicians promptly and courteously, and screening individuals by requesting identification or visitor passes when appropriate.
Responsibilities
- Independently perform venous, arterial, and capillary punctures.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of laboratory principles across disciplines such as microbiology, hematology, and chemistry.
- Understand sample processing and result interpretation.
- Prioritize chemical and biological safety.
- Operate and maintain lab equipment.
- Demonstrate knowledge and operation of Laboratory (LIS) and Hospital (HIS) computer systems, including validating, recording, and reporting test results via phone, computer entry, and instrument verification protocol in a timely manner.
- Follow written or oral instructions and work with minimal supervision.
- Recognize and prioritize tasks appropriately.
- Respond to emergencies, adapt to changing situations, and cope with stress professionally.
- Actively participate in continuing education, competency tests, and in-service training seminars to update knowledge and skills.
Requirements
- High School GED or High School Diploma (required upon hire).
- One year of full-time clinical hospital laboratory phlebotomy experience (including venous, arterial, and capillary puncture techniques) within the last two years.
- California Phlebotomist certification (required upon hire).
- Two years of laboratory experience (preferred).

Pay
$37.49 - $46.12 per hour.
