About the role
You will support strategic initiatives that strengthen Mercury’s Ongoing Due Diligence (ODD) KYC risk program and controls while ensuring adherence to established policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. You will help enhance existing operational workflows and develop new KYC/EDD controls to support upcoming product launches and processes. Additionally, you will partner closely with cross-functional teams to evolve Mercury’s KYC program by implementing automation, introducing new controls, and building scalable solutions that improve operational efficiency while minimizing customer friction.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of new operational processes, creating comprehensive procedures to support BPO outsourcing and execution
- Partner cross-functionally with Compliance, BSA, Product, Risk Strategy, and other teams to enhance Mercury's ongoing due diligence program and drive operational efficiency through data and technology
- Continuously refine and standardize desktop procedures for various KYC workflows to improve operational efficiency, accuracy, and regulatory compliance
- Support complex KYC Refresh and related workflow cases as needed to ensure accurate and consistent execution
- Identify opportunities to reduce unnecessary case volume by proposing auto-clearing logic
- Maintain and enhance metric dashboards to monitor control performance, remediation status, and operational effectiveness
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience related to KYC, Risk Investigations, AML, or Sanctions
- 2+ years of experience building programs or processes
- Highly motivated self-starter comfortable working within a high-risk environment under minimal supervision
- Strong understanding of financial services (or any other highly regulated) environments
- Experience managing customer-facing queues to support excessive caseloads and/or handle customer escalations as required
- Experience with KYC verification software (e.g., Alloy, MidDesk, Socure)
- Passion for problem solving and improving teams, products, and processes
- Curiosity about the U.S. banking system, startups, and ecommerce companies
Pay
- US employees in New York City, Los Angeles, Seattle, or the San Francisco Bay Area: $106,200—$132,800 USD
- US employees outside of New York City, Los Angeles, Seattle, or the San Francisco Bay Area: $95,600—$119,500 USD
- Canadian employees (any location): $100,400—$125,500 CAD
