About the role
The ideal candidate will bring a blend of aesthetic sensibility and technical acumen to our team. They should have a proven track record in architectural interiors, with a particular focus on kitchens, bathrooms, and renovation projects.
Responsibilities
- Design and plan functional layouts based on real-life use, flow, operation, and client needs.
- Understand and plan kitchen and bathroom mechanics, including plumbing locations, appliance requirements, fixture clearances, ventilation, electrical planning, and storage needs.
- Coordinate design intent with construction feasibility and jobsite conditions.
- Communicate design decisions clearly and professionally to clients and stakeholders.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring all deliverables meet high standards of quality and functionality.
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years of professional interior design experience, with a strong focus on architectural interiors, kitchen and bathroom planning, construction documentation, and real-world project execution.
- Strong experience in interior architectural design, especially kitchens, bathrooms, millwork, and apartment renovations.
- Ability to produce and review detailed plans, elevations, renderings, finish schedules, and design documentation.
- Strong understanding of cabinetry, millwork, tile layouts, stone, lighting, fixtures, hardware, and finish selections.
- Experience with NYC apartments, co-ops, condos, or pre-war renovations is a strong plus.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, Chief Architect, 2020 Design, or similar programs.
- Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines at once.
Qualifications
- Comfortable working with contractors, project managers, vendors, architects, and clients.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to catch conflicts before they become field issues.
Skills
- Understanding of kitchen and bathroom mechanics.
