Senior Kitchen and Bath Designer

About the role

The Senior Kitchen and Bath Designer is a full-time, on-site role located in Traverse City, MI.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and budget, and translate those requirements into detailed kitchen and bath designs.
• Create design layouts and renderings.
• Select materials and finishes.
• Prepare proposals.
• Cook with cabinetry makers, installers, and other trades to ensure accurate execution.
• Manage multiple projects, provide design guidance throughout the process, and maintain strong communication with clients from initial consultation through final installation.
• Support showroom activities, contribute to sales efforts, and maintain organized project documentation.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated 5 years minimum experience in Kitchen & Bath Design, including space planning, layout, and material/finish selection.
• Strong Customer Service and Communication skills to build rapport, manage expectations, and guide clients through the design process.
• Sales experience with the ability to present designs, prepare estimates, and close projects in a consultative manner.
• In-depth knowledge of Cabinetry, including construction methods, product lines, and installation considerations.
• Proficiency with design software (e.g., 2020 Design, CAD tools) and basic computer skills for documentation and email communication.
• Solid organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
• Previous experience in residential interior design, kitchen and bath studios, or related fields strongly preferred.
• Relevant education or training in interior design, architecture, or a closely related discipline is beneficial.
