About the role
We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Java Developer to design, develop, and support modern enterprise applications that drive business growth initiatives. This role requires strong experience building cloud-native applications, microservices, APIs, event-driven systems, and modern user interfaces while collaborating across business and technical teams. This is new development with a focus on back end and middleware to connect existing legacy systems to new systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, testing, integration, and support of enterprise applications and services.
- Build scalable full-stack applications using Java, Spring Boot, and React.
- Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Develop and support event-driven solutions and messaging integrations.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, developers, and external vendors to deliver technology solutions.
- Evaluate technical approaches and recommend scalable, maintainable solutions.
- Build and maintain automated testing frameworks and quality processes.
- Optimize application performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and DevOps best practices.
- Mentor team members and contribute to engineering standards and best practices.
- Leverage AI-assisted and agentic development tools to improve software delivery.
Requirements
- Java (11-21)
- Spring Boot
- REST API development
- Microservices architecture
- AWS cloud services
- Apache Kafka and event-driven architecture
- MongoDB or similar NoSQL database
- Docker/Kubernetes in cloud environments
- CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with AI agentic software development tools and practices
Nice to have
- Gradle/Groovy
- React (17-19)
- MuleSoft or API Gateway
Qualifications
- 10+ years of software development experience in enterprise environments.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from a U.S.-based accredited university.
- Experience working with large insurance companies.
