Senior Java Production Support Engineer (Hybrid)

About the role

You will make an impact by ensuring the stability, performance, and continuous improvement of critical enterprise applications. You will be a valued member of the engineering and support team, working collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders, including development, operations, and business teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide application maintenance, monitoring, and production support to ensure high availability and performance
• Design, develop, and execute project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
• Leverage tools such as Kibana and Datadog to monitor system health and optimize performance
• Develop automation solutions using Linux and Unix shell scripting to improve operational efficiency
• Build and enhance applications using Spring Boot, Spring Batch, and Java 17 technologies

Requirements

• Strong expertise in monitoring and observability tools such as Kibana and Datadog
• 8 years of experience in Java applications
• Proficiency in Linux and Unix shell scripting for automation and operational support
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and Spring Batch frameworks
• Advanced knowledge of Java 17 and building scalable, high-performance applications
• Proven ability to manage application support and delivery in a hybrid work environment
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills

• Domain expertise in Cards and Payments
• Experience working in cross-functional, globally distributed teams
• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve issues in a timely manner
• Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement and innovation
• Experience presenting insights and updates to leadership and stakeholders

Skills

Pay

The annual salary for this position is between $63,000 and $115,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

Schedule

This is a hybrid position requiring up to 3 days per week in a client or Cognizant office in Riverwoods, IL. The working arrangements for this role are accurate as of the date of posting. This may change based on the project you’re engaged in, as well as business and client requirements.
