Senior Java Developer – New Jersey

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Java-based backend applications using modern development frameworks.
• Develop, enhance, and support RESTful APIs and enterprise system integrations.
• Maintain automated data interfaces between internal platforms, databases, and third-party systems.
• Support recurring regulatory and compliance-related reporting processes.
• Monitor inbound and outbound data transactions to ensure completeness, accuracy, and timely processing.
• Analyze response files, identify errors, and implement corrective actions.
• Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and data validation scripts.
• Troubleshoot production issues involving applications, interfaces, APIs, and databases.
• Optimize performance, scalability, and reliability of existing systems.
• Prepare technical documentation for applications, processes, and data flows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and implement enhancements.
• Provide after-hours support when necessary for critical production systems.

Qualifications

• Strong professional experience in Java development, including design, coding, testing, debugging, and support.
• Experience with Java frameworks such as Spring Boot or similar enterprise frameworks.
• Advanced knowledge of SQL, XML, JDBC, APIs, and secure file transfer processes.
• Experience working with relational databases such as MySQL, DB2, SQL Server, or Oracle.
• Strong understanding of backend integrations and batch data processing.
• Able to troubleshoot high-priority production systems under tight deadlines.
• Experience working with large datasets and reporting tools, including advanced Excel skills.
• Familiarity with legacy systems or mainframe-connected environments is a plus.
• Exposure to EDI standards or structured data exchange formats preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field preferred.
