Senior Java Developer – New Jersey
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain Java-based backend applications using modern development frameworks.
- Develop, enhance, and support RESTful APIs and enterprise system integrations.
- Maintain automated data interfaces between internal platforms, databases, and third-party systems.
- Support recurring regulatory and compliance-related reporting processes.
- Monitor inbound and outbound data transactions to ensure completeness, accuracy, and timely processing.
- Analyze response files, identify errors, and implement corrective actions.
- Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and data validation scripts.
- Troubleshoot production issues involving applications, interfaces, APIs, and databases.
- Optimize performance, scalability, and reliability of existing systems.
- Prepare technical documentation for applications, processes, and data flows.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and implement enhancements.
- Provide after-hours support when necessary for critical production systems.
Qualifications
- Strong professional experience in Java development, including design, coding, testing, debugging, and support.
- Experience with Java frameworks such as Spring Boot or similar enterprise frameworks.
- Advanced knowledge of SQL, XML, JDBC, APIs, and secure file transfer processes.
- Experience working with relational databases such as MySQL, DB2, SQL Server, or Oracle.
- Strong understanding of backend integrations and batch data processing.
- Able to troubleshoot high-priority production systems under tight deadlines.
- Experience working with large datasets and reporting tools, including advanced Excel skills.
- Familiarity with legacy systems or mainframe-connected environments is a plus.
- Exposure to EDI standards or structured data exchange formats preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field preferred.
