Senior Java Developer
About the role
Design, develop, and maintain backend services and cloud-native applications using Java, Spring Framework, and AWS technologies. Build scalable, secure, and high-performance enterprise solutions for critical internal insurance applications.
Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and PL/SQL code for Oracle databases. Deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot applications within AWS environments (EC2, EKS, Docker, Kubernetes).
Collaborate closely with developers, architects, and business stakeholders to deliver quality software in an Agile environment. Participate in technical discussions, code reviews, and promote best practices across the development team.
Support ongoing maintenance, application deployments, and performance optimization initiatives. Contribute to continuous improvement by evaluating and adopting modern development tools and methodologies. Ensure application reliability, scalability, and performance through proactive problem-solving and analytical skills.
Insurance industry experience and local New England residency required.
