We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Java Spark Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will design, develop, and implement robust and scalable data processing solutions using Core Java, Spring Integration Framework, and Apache Spark. You will integrate these solutions into our existing data infrastructure, address complex data challenges, and provide technical leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to a team of developers, leading by example in software development best practices, including code quality, design patterns, and security standards.
  • Architect and design robust, scalable, and resilient full-stack applications using Java/J2EE, Angular, and related technologies.
  • Lead hands-on development of complex features and components across the full technology stack, from backend services to the frontend user interface.
  • Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to define project scope, requirements, and timelines, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality software.
  • Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices, and drive the implementation of automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, identifying opportunities for innovation and process improvements to enhance the development lifecycle and application performance.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to provide updates on project status, risks, and dependencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in software development, with a significant portion in a full-stack capacity.

Skills

  • Backend Technologies:
    • Expertise in Java and the J2EE ecosystem (Servlets, JSP, EJB, JMS, JPA/Hibernate).
    • Strong experience with Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security).
    • Proficiency in building and consuming RESTful APIs and web services (SOAP).
    • Experience with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL) and SQL.
  • Frontend Technologies:
    • Proficiency in modern JavaScript frameworks, particularly Angular (Angular 2+).
    • Strong understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and TypeScript.
    • Experience with front-end build tools and package managers (e.g., Webpack, npm).
  • DevOps and Cloud:
    • Experience with CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, TeamCity, or GitLab CI.
    • Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Leadership and Communication:
    • Proven experience in leading and mentoring development teams.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to a diverse audience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Experience in the financial services industry.
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture and design patterns.
  • Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
  • Experience with performance tuning and optimization of large-scale applications.

Primary location: Jersey City, New Jersey, United States.

Pay

Full-time salary range: $142,320.00 - $213,480.00. In addition to salary, eligible employees may receive discretionary and formulaic incentive and retention awards.
