About the role
The Senior IT Systems Engineer plays a key technical leadership role in designing, securing, and operating modern cloud and infrastructure platforms. This position is ideal for an experienced engineer who thrives in Microsoft-centric environments, enjoys solving complex infrastructure challenges, and wants to help shape the future of IT in a multi-site, operational business.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), including Conditional Access, MFA, identity governance, and least-privilege access.
- Lead Microsoft Intune and endpoint management initiatives, including Autopilot, compliance policies, configuration profiles, and security baselines.
- Ensure secure user and device lifecycle management across hybrid and cloud environments.
- Architect, maintain, and support VMware environments (hosts, clusters, storage, and backups).
- Support on-prem and hybrid infrastructure, including Windows Server, storage platforms, and core services.
- Maintain system performance and availability; proactively identify and mitigate risk.
- Perform advanced system administration: server hardening, patching, vulnerability remediation, and incident response support.
- Partner with cybersecurity leadership on audits, security reviews, and remediation efforts.
- Ensure systems meet organizational security standards and industry best practices.
- Serve as a senior escalation point for complex infrastructure and cloud issues.
- Work within Jira Service Management to track incidents, requests, and changes.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, standards, and operational procedures.
- Mentor junior engineers and support staff; provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve reliability, security, and efficiency.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with: Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Microsoft Intune/Endpoint Manager, VMware virtualization platforms, and Windows Server and enterprise infrastructure services.
- Excellent Change Management and organization skills.
- Experience supporting multi-site or hybrid environments.
- A collaborative mindset with strong communication and leadership skills.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field plus 7+ years of experience or equivalent experience with Systems Engineering at mid-to-large companies.
Skills
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD)
- Experience with Microsoft Intune/Endpoint Manager
- Experience with VMware virtualization platforms
- Experience with Windows Server and enterprise infrastructure services

Pay
The starting salary for this position is $85,000 - $96,000 per year depending on experience.
Schedule
Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.

We are located in New Hope or Plymouth, MN.
