About the role
Seasats is growing rapidly and is seeking a Senior IT Systems Administrator to oversee the company's internal IT systems. The role involves supporting a team of approximately 100 people across various departments and ensuring secure, reliable, and well-supported technology.
Responsibilities
- Serving as the primary point of contact for employee IT support
- Troubleshooting devices, accounts, applications, networks, and office technology
- Managing employee onboarding, access changes, and offboarding
- Administering Google Workspace, identity, endpoint, password, and collaboration systems
- Maintaining company devices, software, licenses, security, inventory, and replacement planning
- Designing and maintaining reliable office networks across facilities
- Supporting conference rooms, audiovisual equipment, and shared workspaces
- Partnering with engineering and operations on IT needs in office spaces, labs, manufacturing facilities, and field environments
- Supporting security and compliance efforts through documentation, controls, audits, and customer questionnaires
- Creating clear documentation and self-service resources
- Developing the company’s IT roadmap and budget
Requirements
- 6+ years of hands-on IT systems administration or IT operations experience
- Experience owning IT for a small or mid-sized organization
- Strong Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 administration experience
- Experience managing Windows and macOS devices through an MDM platform
- Working knowledge of Linux and experience supporting technical users
- Strong networking knowledge, including DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, Wi-Fi, and firewalls
- Working knowledge of identity management, SSO, MFA, access controls, and employee lifecycle management
- Practical knowledge of endpoint security, patching, backups, logging, and incident response
- Experience building repeatable support, onboarding, offboarding, purchasing, and inventory processes
- Experience with ticketing, asset-management, or IT service-management systems
- Strong troubleshooting skills and sound judgment around security, reliability, cost, and usability
- Clear communication skills and a service-oriented approach
- Comfort providing hands-on support in an engineering and manufacturing environment
Qualifications
- Experienced in supporting engineering, robotics, aerospace, defense, or manufacturing organizations
- Familiarity with NIST 800-171, CMMC, SOC 2, ISO 27001, or similar frameworks
- Experience handling export-controlled, customer-sensitive, or government information
- Experience managing cloud infrastructure and on-premises servers
- Familiarity with platforms such as Okta, JumpCloud, Kandji, Jamf, or Microsoft Intune
- Scripting or automation experience with Python, PowerShell or Bash
- Experience selecting and managing IT or security vendors
