Senior IT Project Manager (contract)

For our client, we are seeking a Senior IT Project Manager (contract) to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This role will lead complex technology initiatives that support business priorities and drive successful delivery across multiple functions. The Senior IT Project Manager will coordinate planning, execution, and stakeholder communication to keep projects on track, within scope, and aligned to timelines and budget expectations. In addition, this person will help strengthen governance, improve delivery processes, and support a collaborative project culture. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience managing software and Agile initiatives in a fast-paced environment. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $156,000 – $208,000 annually Responsibilities Lead and execute cross-functional business and technology projects Develop and maintain detailed project plans and timelines Manage project scope, risks, and deliverables while resolving roadblocks Act as the primary contact for stakeholders and foster communication Mentor junior project managers and promote continuous learning Implement governance frameworks and drive process improvements Oversee project budgets and track key performance indicators Qualifications 10+ years of project management experience leading complex technology initiatives Proven track record in software development and Agile methodologies Experience launching and delivering payroll products or solutions Strong organizational skills with proactive problem-solving ability PMI PMP® certification required Benefits Remote work flexibility Contract duration may be adjusted based on business needs Opportunity for mentorship and professional development Access to best practices in project management methodologies Dynamic, fast-paced work environment Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
