Position Overview
The Senior IT Project Manager will oversee the successful completion of projects, adhering to timelines, budgets, and quality standards. They will collaborate with business units and IT sponsors to define project goals and success criteria, manage project plans, and ensure effective communication with stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Define project goals, success criteria, and expectations with stakeholders
- Manage the initiative(s) successfully through all project phases within given constraints of time, budget, scope, and quality
- Effectively identify and manage change requests
- Create and manage a realistic and credible project plan
- Negotiate project deliverables, milestones, and target dates
- Establish and continuously facilitate appropriate communication amongst stakeholders and teams, ensuring clarity on goals, priorities, and concrete responsibilities for all team members
- Provide regular verbal and documented status updates
- Work closely with the support team(s) to prepare for and manage the transition and warranty period
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional experience in project management or similar field
- 5 years' experience in delivery of large-scale IT application implementation projects
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in insurance/reinsurance, with specialty insurance experience preferred
- Bachelor's Degree
- Implementation experience with both off-the-shelf products and custom developed applications
- Desired: Experience in insurance core systems such as Guidewire, Duck Creek, etc.
- Experience in managing teams consisting of both company employees and third parties
- Experience in outsourcing work to outside vendors to achieve deliverables
- Strong communication, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Experience in managing projects in a global, matrix environment
- Knowledge of software development life cycle methodologies and best practices
- Experience with different SDLC methodologies including agile and waterfall
- Experience managing multiple projects at one time
