Senior IT/OT Network Security Engineer with Valid Certificate

About the role

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development, maintenance, and enhancement of IT and OT networks within the state of New York. This role requires expertise in network protocols, security principles, and real-time data processing, particularly in the context of transportation systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, secure, and manage IT and OT networks, addressing challenges in the transportation sector.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure secure networking concepts are communicated effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Implement layered security approaches, comply with regulations and standards, and utilize zero-trust architecture.
• Manage incident response and conduct root cause analysis for network issues.
• Ensure compliance with cybersecurity best practices and standards.

Requirements

• 72 months experience in foundational IT and OT networking, including routing, switching, and wireless protocols.
• 60 months experience in OT, covering network protocols, cybersecurity threats, and real-time data processing.
• 48 months experience with cybersecurity specifically related to IT/OT convergence, including layered security approaches and zero-trust architecture.
• Experience with specific networks in the transportation sector, such as adaptive traffic signal control, ITS, and ATMS.
• Experience with IT and OT network operational support, including incident response and root cause analysis.

Qualifications

• 60 months experience in IT/OT convergence challenges and solutions, especially in the transportation sector.
• MUST hold at least one of the following certifications: Cisco (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE), CompTIA Network+/Security+, or CISSP.

Skills

• Strong understanding of network protocols and security principles.
• Expertise in network design and architecture.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to articulate complex networking concepts.
