About the role
The Senior IT Manager will lead the IT team within a rapidly growing startup environment. This role focuses on establishing high standards for IT operations, managing core IT systems, and supporting the organization’s infrastructure to enable smooth and secure technology use. Reporting to the VP of Engineering and based anywhere in the continental US, this position is integral to scaling IT capabilities and ensuring compliance with relevant security standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage, coach, and develop a team of IT Support Engineers, including hiring and performance management.
- Maintain hands-on involvement by setting technical standards, mentoring the team, and handling complex escalations.
- Oversee core IT systems and roadmap, including identity and access management, device management, and SaaS tools such as Google Workspace and Slack.
- Manage IT vendor relationships, procurement, and budgeting, ensuring cost-effective tools and services.
- Identify and automate manual, repetitive IT tasks to improve efficiency.
- Facilitate onboarding and offboarding processes for a distributed workforce.
- Collaborate with the Security team on HIPAA compliance and SOC 2 HITRUST certification controls.
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years in IT support or operations, with at least 2 years managing teams and building high-performing groups.
- Ability to balance leadership and hands-on technical work.
- Strong customer service orientation and communication skills.
- Experience working with senior leadership and handling sensitive issues discreetly.
- Proficient with systems such as Okta, Google Workspace, Slack, and Apple device management tools like Iru or Jamf.
Pay
The expected base salary range is $165,000 to $195,000. Eligibility for equity grants providing ownership in the organization. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, skills, and certifications.
