Senior IT Business System Analyst

About the role

Partner with the business to plan and scope business initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, and task and workflow analysis.
• Evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, and decompose high level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding.
• Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following as needed: functional requirements through the Business Requirements Document (BRD), use cases, Graphical User Interface GUI, screen and interface designs.
• Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
• Perform system set-up, configuration, administrative duties, and testing.
• Suggest best practices and opportunities for improvement through automation.
• Liaison between the business units, technology teams and support teams.
• Develop user manuals associated with the applications and conduct user training as needed.
• Maintain reference documentation which includes definition and source of data elements.
• Supply junior and mid-level business systems analysts with guidance and support as needed.

Requirements

• Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, or related and three (3) years of experience in IT or related.
• Alternatively, will accept a Master’s degree in Business, Information Systems, or related, and one (1) year of experience in IT or related.
• Must Have Experience In Data visualization software and analytics tools including Power BI, Tableau and Qlik Sense;
• Data programming languages including Python and R;
• Creating process flows using MS Visio;
• Data management systems including MS SQL Server, MongoDB, Oracle and DB2;
• Querying languages using SQL;
• Data modeling and data visualizations.

Qualifications

Occasional Domestic Travel (5-10% of the time).

Skills

• Data visualization software and analytics tools including Power BI, Tableau and Qlik Sense;
