Senior Internal Auditor

The Bonadio Group is seeking a Senior Internal Auditor to join our growing Internal Audit team. This role assists in providing internal audit coverage for Financial Institution Group clients, ensuring internal controls safeguard assets, operating efficiency, and compliance with laws, regulations, and accounting principles.

Responsibilities

• Complete audits as assigned, gathering and analyzing data to report results in accordance with IIA Standards.
• Interview client staff to gather relevant information for audit assignments.
• Communicate audit status, findings, and suggestions to the Manager throughout assignments.
• Create organized work papers documenting procedures, methods, and conclusions.
• Support the efficient operation of the internal audit group to complete assignments expeditiously.
• Recommend adjustments to audit steps as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of all work papers and audit information.
• Perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

• A minimum of three years of related experience.
• Ability to present information effectively to top management, public meetings, or boards.
• Strong problem-solving skills with creative approaches to systems and models.
• Passion for providing superior customer satisfaction.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Aptitude to learn current and future Firm technology.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred).
• Work experience in banking or credit union industry (preferred).
• Pursuing or planning to obtain CIA or CFE designations (desirable).
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
• Experience responding to inquiries from clients, regulatory agencies, or business community members.
• Experience with ProSystems software (preferred).

Pay

$70,000–$85,000 annually.

Schedule

• Standard office hours: 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
• Summer hours: 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, with Flex Friday scheduling available per firm policy.
• Flexibility to work additional hours during peak times.
