Senior Interior Designer

About the role

The Senior Interior Designer at ZGF is responsible for leading design ideation and development, collaborating with teams, and communicating design concepts effectively. They also manage and mentor team members, assist in proposal development, and foster strong client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Possess a comprehensive understanding of design principles, including programming, space planning, color and material research, FF&E, and lighting design.
• Collaborate with and/or lead teams to generate and develop design concepts.
• Clearly communicate design concepts visually and verbally to teams and clients.
• Lead programming efforts and analysis.
• Stay updated on design trends, particularly those relevant to the workplace.
• Manage and mentor team members from concept design through construction administration.
• Assist in developing fee proposals, project schedules, and design workplans.
• Maintain and foster relationships with clients and consultants.
• Participate in business development activities and advise on marketing pursuits.
• Advocate for an inclusive, supportive work culture.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or Architecture and at least 15 years of experience in the field. NCIDQ or AIA certification is preferred.
• Experience managing complex clients with multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent team communication, design presentation, and storytelling skills.
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational/managerial expertise.
• Proficiency in Revit and Enscape for modeling and project management.
• Proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite.
• Demonstrated competency in programming and space planning.
• Experience in both large and small-scale projects across various industries.
• Strong verbal and graphic communication skills.
• Experience in workplace strategy and consulting is advantageous.
• LEED and/or WELL accreditation is desirable.

Qualifications

• Base Salary Range: $122,000/yr - $142,000/yr
• Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision coverage with employer contributions, HSA with employer contribution, 401k with employer match, 4 weeks of PTO and 10 paid holidays per year, paid parental and family leave programs.
