Workplace: On-site, 5 Days per Week Location: Casa Grande, AZ OR Southfield, MI Salary: AZ ($100,000-110,000) OR MI ($90,000-100,000)In this Senior Interior Components Engineer role you will be responsible for developing interior trim and systems from concept through production launch. You significantly contribute to the packaging, design, engineering release, supplier coordination, and launch of components such as instrument panels, door trims, consoles, headliners, and other interior systems. You will work closely with vehicle engineering, design, marketing, and suppliers in a fast-paced environment, with a strong emphasis on craftsmanship, functional performance, quality, and on-time vehicle program execution.Responsibilities • Be a significant contributor to a world class Interior Components and Systems engineering team • Create industry leading Interior Components and Systems with groundbreaking luxury, craftsmanship, performance, safety, ergonomics, and functionality • Contribute to the packaging, engineering, release, and launch of Interior Components and Systems across the portfolio • Work collaboratively within a cross functional marketing, design, and vehicle engineering team, prioritizing overall vehicle benefit above individual systems • Collaborate with interior trim suppliers to ensure technical excellence and on time delivery of Interior Components and Systems • Employ and develop effective tools and innovative approaches to support product developmentRequired Qualifications • 4+ years of demonstrated experience as a detail oriented Interior Components and Systems development lead (e.g., hard trim, soft trim, IP, door trims, consoles, headliners, etc.) • Knowledge and understanding of automotive interior components and systems, industry benchmarks, trends, and supplier capabilities • Experience creating, improving, or establishing technical product specifications and timelines to support accelerated development toward SOP • Proficiency in CAD for 2D/3D concept drawings, interior components and systems, packaging layouts, and DFM studies (CATIA V5/V6 preferred) • Vehicle and product launch experiencePreferred Qualifications • Flexibility and adaptability to succeed in a fast paced startup environment • Experience completing one full program cycle from concept to production launch in automotive interior components and systems • Profound knowledge of vehicle interior systems with a demonstrable track record of technical excellence and program execution • Strong understanding of plastic part design, structural performance, manufacturing technologies, craftsmanship, ergonomics, safety, and homologation requirements • Competency in materials selection, plastic injection molding/DFM, and GD&T • A strong desire to create exceptional products as part of a highly capable team • A practical, hands on approach that complements theoretical knowledge • Exceptional technical abilities paired with excellent communication skillsSalary Range • $100,000 - 110,000 • The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment and will not be discriminated against on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, age, genetic information, or pregnancy.Please beware of job seeker scams and see this important notice on our careers page for more information about our recruiting process.Compliance Notice: Alten USA is a federal contractor subject to the requirements of the Vietnam Era Veterans’ Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA) and Executive Order 11246.
