Senior Insurance Coverage Attorney
About the role
Kennedys, a Legal 500 and Chambers-ranked global law firm, is seeking a motivated and dynamic Senior Associate or Special Counsel with at least seven years of insurance coverage experience to support its national and international coverage practice. The position is based in CA, but our culture fosters global collaboration daily.
Responsibilities
- Advising insurance companies in a variety of coverage matters
- Representing insurance companies in coverage disputes
- Analyzing coverage issues
- Drafting coverage opinions, pleadings, and dispositive motions
- Conducting discovery in insurance coverage litigation
- Taking and defending depositions
- Attending court conferences
- Arguing motions
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have at least seven years of insurance coverage experience. This includes experience analyzing coverage issues, drafting coverage opinions, pleadings, and dispositive motions, and conducting discovery in insurance coverage litigation. The ideal candidate also will have taken and defended depositions, attended court conferences, and argued motions.
Qualifications
Candidates should have a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and be licensed to practice law in California. Applicants must demonstrate strong analytical skills, excellent writing and communication abilities, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Skills
Experience with insurance coverage law, including policy interpretation, coverage analysis, and litigation strategy. Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills are essential. Proficiency in legal research tools and software is preferred.
Benefits
Competitive salary and benefits package offered. Remote working arrangements will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Attorney compensation ranges from approximately $165,000 to $225,000 annually. Salary is contingent upon level of experience, practice group, location and other job-related factors permitted by law.
