Senior Attorney – Specialty (Insurance Coverage)
Responsibilities
- Analyze insurance policies, drafting coverage opinions and providing coverage advice and recommendations to clients
- Conduct complex and rigorous legal research and analysis, and draft memoranda
- Draft and review pleadings, memos, briefs, discovery, motions with supporting briefs and other legal correspondence
- Prepare formal correspondence to opposing counsel and other parties
- Attend depositions, hearings, and mediations as required
Requirements
- Excellent academic credentials
- Admitted to practice in California
- Admitted to other states (particularly TX, NY, WA, or CO) is an asset
- Ideal 6+ years of experience in complex insurance coverage litigation matters
- Experience in commercial general liability
- Federal court experience

Pay and Schedule
Candidate compensation for this position ranges from $200,000-$240,000 annually. Placement within the range will be determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, practice group, location, and other job-related considerations permitted by law.

About the Role
Clyde & Co seeks a highly motivated and bright attorney with ideally 6+ years of experience. We are looking for an excellent writer who is highly motivated and proactive with their caseload—someone who will be able to act independently and comfortable taking on a leadership role with their cases, with experience and an interest in working on complex insurance coverage litigation matters. Our hiring practice group represents international and domestic insurers in complex insurance coverage litigation matters with regards to all manner of liability policies, including commercial general liability, and focuses on insurance for industries that drive Southern California's industries: construction, energy, entertainment and maritime.
