About the role

Understand project and contract specifications, provide technical support in commercial discussions involving variation orders, scope and responsibility, cost disputes, etc., with various project stakeholders. Define scope split matrix for Topside/Hull engineering sub-contractors. Responsible for planning and execution of relevant engineering work schedules in line with the construction schedule provided by the project planner.

Responsibilities

  • Review and comment engineering schedule and planned activities proposed by engineering sub-contractors.
  • Review Instrumentation & Control documents, ensuring they comply with contract, classification, and local authority regulations.
  • Maintain progress monitoring of drawing schedules and planned I&C engineering design activities against the overall project execution plan.
  • Ensure equipment layout complies with contract, classification, and local authority regulations, coordinating with various disciplines on material handling, constructability, installation, operation, and maintenance, and safety.
  • Review and consolidate Material Take-off (MTO) documents and issue for purchase. Review and comment vendor documents and participate in vendor Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) as lead representative.
  • Participate in technical meetings, progress reviews, 3D Model reviews, workshops; address issues related to I&C design and interfaces.
  • Act as lead representative for key discussions and safety workshops such as Hazard Identification and Analysis (HAZID), Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP), gas dispersion studies, Control HAZOP, ICSS design reviews, Functional Safety Assessments (FSA), digital security reviews, etc., and make sound engineering decisions.
  • Monitor and control material costs and man-hours within the scope of work, advocating for cost-consciousness among team members.
  • Act as the point of contact for escalating major issues or bottlenecks to engineering sub-contractors and take necessary preventive/corrective actions to rectify situations.
  • Address comments from clients, classification bodies, local authorities, and third-party consultants with the assistance of engineering sub-contractors.
  • Lead the in-house I&C team for I&C design of buildings (F&G, PAGA, CCTV, etc.), interfacing with topside/hull engineering.
  • Communicate with vendors and other disciplines to ensure that changes are captured promptly and implemented in design and 3D models.
  • Follow up on all instrumentation and control engineering activities after taking over from engineering sub-contractors, including document updates, vendor document reviews, supporting construction, commissioning, and driving lesson-learned activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years of experience
