Senior Instructor of Clinical Practice/Pharmacist

About the role

The CU Research Pharmacy (CURP) at the Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences on the Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking a Senior Instructor of Clinical Practice/Pharmacist to support its operations. CURP manages investigational products for over 170 outpatient studies and requires strict adherence to regulatory requirements and high operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to support the development, implementation, and execution of high-quality, accurate pharmacy practices.
• Adhere to established standards of practice for the receipt, storage, temperature monitoring, dispensing, and disposal of investigational drugs.
• Review study protocols and related documentation to prepare clear, concise summaries and provide staff training on assigned clinical research protocols.
• Communicate effectively with research personnel and study teams to support the preparation for dispensing of new study drugs.
• Exercise knowledge of contemporary pharmacy practice and regulatory standards to operate a research pharmacy fully compliant with applicable licensing, regulatory, and product preparation and dispensing requirements.
• Support daily pharmacy operations by assigning and overseeing work of pharmacy technicians, and educating and mentoring student pharmacists on rotation in the CURP.
• Utilize professional expertise and business acumen to effectively operate pharmacy systems, software applications, and equipment to optimize workflow efficiency and operational performance.
• Demonstrate fiscal accountability and effective resource management, supporting the financial sustainability of the CURP.

Work Location

This role is expected to work onsite in Aurora, CO.

Qualifications

• PharmD Degree or equivalent
• Licensure as a registered pharmacist in the State of Colorado

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge and previous experience related to investigational drug products and investigational trials
• Previous experience with compounding (sterile and/or non-sterile)
