This role supports the US commercialization of COBENFY, the first ever treatment to target muscarinic receptor circuits for schizophrenia, within Community Mental Health Centers, Certified Community Behavioral Health Centers, and Hospitals.

The Institutional Mental Health Account Specialist (MHAS) is a critical role in executing BMS’s aspiration to deliver impactful engagement with Health Care Providers (HCPs), driving adoption of new and existing medicines for appropriate patients. You will be a key member of the hospital launch team, building and maintaining strong professional credibility with regional thought leaders, community-based physicians, hospital-based HCPs, and other stakeholders in the patient care continuum.

Responsibilities

  • Promote approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory to meet or exceed assigned sales targets in a compliant manner.
  • Create demand for BMS medicines by articulating the clinical and scientific rationale for use in appropriate patients.
  • Engage with and maintain a high level of scientific expertise in all assigned products and therapeutic areas.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive territory and account plans, outlining strategic drivers and tactics to promote products to HCPs, hospital administrators, and key influencers.
  • Proactively use available tools to derive insights and dynamically inform call plans; provide feedback on tool usage to leadership.
  • Develop and leverage strong professional relationships with customers in clinical practice, pharmacy departments, and Pharmacy & Therapeutics (P&T) committees to encourage formulary access and product availability.
  • Demonstrate thorough understanding of access, affordability, reimbursement services, and payer/formulary dynamics within hospitals.
  • Conduct in-office presentations (e.g., lunch and learns) and discuss product-related scientific information with HCPs consistent with label.
  • Organize external speaker programs, selecting approved speakers and facilitating scheduling and logistics.
  • Maintain a high level of working expertise on emerging data for approved indications.
  • Engage real-time medical support through Medical on Call to answer unsolicited questions and complex technical inquiries.
  • Collaborate with other field teams to ensure the best Customer Experience (Cx) for HCPs; gather and share relevant insights internally.
  • Work with matrix team members to arrange approved promotional programs and hospital initiatives compliantly.
  • Comply with all laws, regulations, and policies governing BMS’s conduct.

Requirements

  • Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience in healthcare sales, MSL, HCP, or nursing roles.
  • Ability to communicate scientific or clinical data accurately and convincingly to help physicians best serve their patients.
  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining strong credibility with key community- and hospital-based customers, office staff, and case managers.
  • Experience in Psychiatry, Community Mental Health Centers, Certified Community Behavioral Health Centers, or Hospitals preferred.
  • Demonstrated understanding of acute care, hospital, and healthcare systems, including institutional treatment dynamics.
  • Experience engaging with P&T committee members and knowledge of formulary and reimbursement processes.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals and strong account management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively cross-functionally with a positive team mindset.

Pay

Field - United States: $147,560 - $178,808 (full-time employee basis). Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities may be available based on eligibility. The starting pay rate reflects required skills, job location, work schedule, and experience. Final compensation will be determined based on demonstrated experience.

Eligibility for specific benefits may vary by job and location. This position requires the operation of a Company-provided vehicle; offers are contingent upon meeting "Qualified Driver" requirements, including being at least 21 years of age, holding a valid driver’s license in good standing, and meeting the Company’s driving risk standards.
