About the Opportunity:The SENIOR INPATIENT CODER role is responsible for accurately coding hospital inpatient accounts under direct supervision. This position ensures precise application of ICD-10-CM/PCS codes to support reimbursement, compliance, and data integrity. The role serves as a subject matter expert, collaborating with clinical staff to resolve documentation issues and maintain coding quality and productivity standards. Responsibilities:Accurately code complex inpatient cases utilizing ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS systemsServe as a clinical coding expert, analyzing and evaluating documentation issuesCollaborate with coding staff to share information and provide guidance on complex casesMonitor daily work to meet billing process timeframesMaintain coding accuracy rate of 90% and productivity rate of 95%Communicate with hospital departments regarding billing and registration issuesCompose coding queries and work with clinical documentation improvement teamsCollaborate with auditing teams to ensure compliance and appropriate codingAdhere to ethical coding standards and organizational policiesPerform additional duties as assigned by management Requirements:High school graduate or equivalent; Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferredMinimum of three years ICD-10-CM/ICD-10-PCS coding experience in a Level 1 Trauma and Rehab hospital, or four years inpatient coding experienceCertification required: Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), or Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC) Pay Range and Compensation Package:Pay Range: $30.26 - $42.37 Equal Opportunity Statement: Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
