Senior Innovation Engineer, Marketplace

Location: Remote – US-based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $140,000 – $180,000 annually

About the role

This role supports financial strategy, forecasting, and performance management initiatives that strengthen business visibility and decision-making. You will partner with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to improve planning processes, financial discipline, controls, and resource allocation. The position offers the opportunity to influence enterprise performance and scalable financial operations within a technology-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and build reusable services for Marketplace products, such as purchase orders and invoicing
• Develop prototypes and MVPs for new marketplace products, validating ideas with customers
• Enhance existing products by improving workflows and addressing usability issues
• Build AI-driven workflows, integrating document-extraction tools and LLMs
• Engage in customer discovery and synthesize feedback for product improvement
• Collaborate with staff engineers on system design, mentoring junior engineers as needed
• Identify and streamline workflow inefficiencies within project scope

Qualifications

• 4-7 years experience in software engineering, strong backend/distributed systems fundamentals
• Experience shipping technical MVPs/prototypes with real customers in iterative environments
• Familiarity with AI/LLM integration tools (Claude, Gemini, OpenAI) or a strong willingness to learn
• Exposure to document-extraction tooling and AI workflows is a plus
• Background in data engineering, ML, or document processing is beneficial
• Comfortable with full-stack work and proactive in understanding customer needs
• Experience in B2B sectors like construction, real estate, or finance is a differentiator
