Senior Infrastructure Engineer/Finance/NYC Local Remote

Responsibilities

• Manage physical data center infrastructure including racking and cabling bare-metal nodes
• Design and implement the network fabric supporting market data pipelines
• Implement and manage enterprise networking technologies such as Layer 2/3 switching, VLANs, routing protocols (OSPF or BGP preferred), and firewall rule management
• Administer Linux systems, including package management, systemd, storage, and the networking stack
• Configure RAID configurations (RAID 1/5/6/10) and adhere to storage best practices
• Use Ansible for configuration management
• Utilize Netbox or equivalent IPAM/DCIM tools for IP address management and data center inventory management
• Operate in a fast-paced startup environment with a high degree of ownership and autonomy
• Communicate effectively through writing and speaking, documenting what you build
• Provision servers using PXE boot, cloud-init, Cobbler, or Foreman
• Monitor and observe system performance using monitoring and observability stacks like New Relic, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar
• Work with time-series or low-latency data infrastructure relevant to market data workloads
• Use out-of-band management tools like iDRAC, iLO, or IPMI
• Write scripts in Python or Bash for automation and operational tooling
• Experience with container orchestration in a bare-metal context (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Utilize network monitoring and flow analysis tools like SNMP, NetFlow, sFlow, and Grafana Network
• Understand and apply security frameworks like CIS Benchmarks and NIST for hardening practices

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience managing physical data center infrastructure
• Proficiency with enterprise networking: Layer 2/3 switching, VLANs, routing protocols (OSPF or BGP preferred), and firewall rule management
• Strong Linux systems administration skills (Ubuntu preferred): package management, systemd, storage, and the networking stack
• Demonstrated experience with RAID configurations (RAID 1/5/6/10) and storage best practices
• Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible strongly preferred)
• Familiarity with Netbox or equivalent IPAM/DCIM tooling
• Comfort operating in a fast-paced startup environment with a high degree of ownership and autonomy
• Strong written and verbal communication skills — you can document what you build
• Experience with server provisioning pipelines (PXE boot, cloud-init, Cobbler, or Foreman)
• Experience with monitoring and observability stacks: New Relic, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar
• Familiarity with time-series or low-latency data infrastructure relevant to market data workloads
• Experience with out-of-band management tools: iDRAC, iLO, or IPMI
• Scripting proficiency in Python or Bash for automation and operational tooling
• Exposure to colocation or carrier-neutral data center environments
• Experience with container orchestration in a bare-metal context (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Familiarity with network monitoring and flow analysis tools (SNMP, NetFlow, sFlow, Grafana Network)
• Knowledge of security frameworks (CIS Benchmarks, NIST) and hardening practices
