Provides advanced technical expertise in enterprise networking, virtualization, and cybersecurity within highly regulated environments. Supports critical IT modernization projects, ensures compliance with federal standards, and guides infrastructure upgrades to meet security and operational best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Support VMware/Omnissa VDI environments, including Windows 10 to Windows 11 migrations and optimization of golden images.
  • Perform troubleshooting, performance tuning, and security hardening of VDI solutions.
  • Support and maintain VMware technologies such as vSphere, VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), Aria Operations, and NSX.
  • Assist with virtual machine migrations and modernization initiatives for virtualization environments.
  • Design, implement, and troubleshoot enterprise network architecture using Cisco technologies, including Catalyst, Nexus, ASR, ISR, Meraki, and Cisco ISE.
  • Support network redesign efforts, switch normalization, and security enhancements based on industry and federal best practices.
  • Implement DISA STIG requirements, assist with cybersecurity compliance, and support Authority to Operate (ATO) initiatives.
  • Conduct security assessments and develop remediation strategies to maintain cybersecurity posture.
  • Support Windows Server 2022 upgrades, Windows 11 optimization, Group Policy management, and LAPS deployment.
  • Serve as a technical advisor, providing mentoring, knowledge transfer, and best-practice recommendations to engineering teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in enterprise IT infrastructure within federal, DoD, or regulated environments.
  • Hands-on experience with VMware/Omnissa VDI environments, including Horizon, golden images, migrations, and performance optimization.
  • Strong background in VMware virtualization and enterprise networking, with proficiency in Cisco networking and security technologies.
  • Experience supporting DISA STIG implementation and cybersecurity compliance initiatives.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer-facing skills.
  • Working knowledge of Windows Server 2022, Windows 11, Group Policy, and LAPS deployment.
  • Ability to support zero-trust security architectures and secure infrastructure design.
  • Eligibility for a U.S. Government security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Relevant VMware or Cisco certifications preferred.
  • Experience with Cisco ISE, Zero Trust architecture, and enterprise security solutions is advantageous.

Pay

$70.00 – $80.00 USD hourly

Fully remote role; can be performed from an approved location.
