Responsibilities
- IT Planning, Design & Implementation
- Perform analytical, technical, and administrative work in the planning, design, and installation of new and existing personal computer systems, workstations, and servers.
- Evaluate and implement IT solutions that support Drone Armor development, test, and operational environments.
- Diagnose and resolve problems in response to customer-reported incidents, ensuring timely and effective support.
- End-User Support & Systems Maintenance
- Confer with end users to determine types of hardware and software required to support mission and business needs.
- Install new hardware and software and maintain existing components across the organization.
- Train end users in the use of equipment and software, promoting effective and secure use of IT resources.
- Perform general maintenance tasks and troubleshoot issues with computer systems and peripheral equipment.
- Prepare progress reports for all work performed and maintain accurate configuration and asset records.
- Technology Evaluation & Recommendations
- Evaluate products for compatibility, expandability, ease of use, and supportability within the Drone Armor environment.
- Recommend to management the support or non-support of evaluated products based on technical and operational criteria.
- Apply extended mastery of IT principles, theories, and practices to related specialties (e.g., networking, security, cloud, virtualization).
- Leadership, Best Practices & Innovation
- Expand knowledge of best practices and incorporate them into all work assignments and procedures.
- Evaluate and enhance current practices to ensure optimal support of organizational objectives and diversity initiatives.
- Oversee leadership of teams and projects that involve extensive cooperation and coordination across functional areas.
- Identify and implement innovative solutions to important, highly complex strategic and operational IT issues, often involving unusual circumstances and incomplete or conflicting data.
- Ensure safe practices and environmental consciousness are exhibited in IT decisions and operations.
- Communication, Management & Oversight
- Prepare written and/or verbal presentations or proposals on highly complex issues for a broad variety of audiences (technical, management, customer).
- Work independently on highly complex or strategic assignments with minimal oversight.
- May direct and supervise lower-level staff, including tasking, mentoring, and performance feedback.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or other related technical discipline is required with 8 years of experience OR 10 years of relevant IT management/engineering experience may be substituted for education.
- Experience: Experience planning, designing, and installing personal computer systems, workstations, and servers; experience diagnosing and resolving customer-reported IT incidents in a complex environment; experience determining hardware and software requirements and supporting end users through training and documentation; experience performing general maintenance and troubleshooting of computer systems and peripherals across an organization; experience preparing progress reports and recommending support/non-support for evaluated IT products; experience leading teams and projects, managing complex or strategic IT efforts, and supervising lower-level staff.
- Technical Competencies: Strong technical expertise across IT products, operating systems, software, hardware, and networks; ability to evaluate IT products for compatibility, expandability, and supportability; familiarity with IT service management practices, incident and problem management, and change control; strong analytical and problem-solving skills, especially in ambiguous or complex situations.
- Security & Citizenship: Must be a US Citizen with a SECRET security clearance.
Desired Skills
- Advanced Education & Certifications: Bachelor’s or higher degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related discipline; Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, CISSP, CCNP, MCSE, cloud certifications).
- Specialized Experience: Experience supporting DoD, defense, or other mission-critical, secure IT environments; experience managing IT infrastructure in support of C-UAS, EW, ISR, or similar operational systems; proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and delivering complex IT projects on schedule.
- Additional Technical & Leadership Skills: Experience with virtualization, cloud services, endpoint management, and enterprise monitoring tools; proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and delivering complex IT projects on schedule.
