About the role

The Senior Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) at Synergy ECP is responsible for providing aid to the program, organization, system, or enclave's information assurance program. They assist in proposing, coordinating, implementing, and enforcing information systems security policies, standards, and methodologies. The ISSO maintains the operational security posture of an information system or program to ensure compliance with security policies, standards, and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Proposes, coordinates, implements, and enforces information systems security policies, standards, and methodologies.
  • Maintains operational security posture for an information system or program.
  • Aids in the management of security aspects of the information system and performs day-to-day security operations.
  • Evaluates security solutions to ensure they meet security requirements for processing classified information.
  • Performs vulnerability/risk assessment analysis to support certification and accreditation.
  • Manages changes to system and assesses the security impact of those changes.
  • Prepares and reviews documentation such as System Security Plans (SSPs), Risk Assessment Reports, Certification and Accreditation (C&A) packages, and System Requirements Traceability Matrices (SRTMs).
  • Assists security authorization activities in compliance with Information System Certification and Accreditation Process (NISCAP) and DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF).

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security, or related discipline or 12+ years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience as an ISSO supporting IC or DoD programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • DoD 8570 compliance with IAM Level II or IAT Level III (i.e., CASP, CISSP, or Associate).
  • Must be fully cleared with the appropriate MPO client polygraph.

Qualifications

Skills

Skills include knowledge of information systems security policies, standards, and methodologies, ability to manage security aspects of information systems, and proficiency in performing vulnerability/risk assessments. Experience with DoD 8570 compliance and familiarity with NISCAP and RMF processes is also beneficial.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $131,300.00 - $237,350.00 annually.
