Senior Information System Security Officer (ISSO) with Security Clearance

Key Responsibilities

• Perform all procedures necessary to ensure the protection of information system assets against unauthorized access, modification, or destruction
• Monitor and analyze Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) to identify and respond to security incidents
• Carry out regular system audits to ensure compliance with security policies, procedures, and SSP requirements
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and scans, including user accounts, application access, file systems, and external interfaces
• Develop, test, and support security tools including firewalls, IDS, antivirus solutions, and software deployment tools
• Research, evaluate, and implement new security technologies and solutions
• Create, implement, and enforce security policies and procedures across systems, applications, and networks
• Support security documentation, including configuration management and SSP maintenance
• Communicate security incidents, alerts, and risks to appropriate stakeholders
• Support security awareness and training initiatives

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Experience supporting information system security programs in classified or regulated environments
• Knowledge of System Security Plans (SSP), security policy implementation, and compliance requirements
• Experience with vulnerability scanning tools and security assessment processes
• Familiarity with IDS/IPS technologies, firewalls, and endpoint security solutions
• Understanding of system configuration and document management processes
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and within a team environment

Education and Experience

• A high school diploma or GED and fourteen (14) years of relevant Information System Security experience; OR
• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline and ten (10) years of relevant experience

Certifications

• Certification in compliance with the requirements of the DoD 8570 IAT Level I or higher is required.

Clearance Requirement

• Must possess an active TS SCI with appropriate Polygraph to be considered for this role
