About the role

The Senior Information System Security Officer (ISSO) is responsible for ensuring the security of sensitive information systems. This role requires a TS/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of security policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to develop and implement secure coding practices and secure software development lifecycle processes.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff on information security best practices.
  • Respond to security incidents and breaches in accordance with established protocols.

Requirements

  • At least a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in information security roles, including experience with TS/SCI clearances.
  • Experience with security frameworks such as NIST 800-53 and ISO 27001.
  • Knowledge of common security tools and technologies, including SIEM, vulnerability scanners, and encryption solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a current TS/SCI clearance.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance requirements, such as HIPAA, GDPR, and FISMA.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with incident response and threat hunting.

Skills

  • Experience with security architecture and design.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity concepts and principles.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Pay

Salary range: $80,000 - $120,000 annually.
