Senior Infection Preventionist
About the role
The Senior Infection Preventionist is an Infection Prevention (IP) Expert and considered to have expertise in Infection Prevention. An IP Expert is expected to work autonomously and to serve as a mentor to other Infection Preventionists. All Infection Preventionists (IPs) are accountable for implementation of and compliance with policies, practices, and processes of the infection prevention program at the facility, region, division and system level.
Responsibilities
- Work autonomously and serve as a mentor to other Infection Preventionists.
- Follow all current local, state and federal guidelines, standards and regulations.
- Provide infection prevention consultative services focused on providing the highest quality care at the lowest cost to patient and organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Public Health, Lab Sciences, Microbiology, or related health sciences field
- National Certified in Infection Control - Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology
- 5 years of Healthcare experience
- 5 years of Epidemiology or Infection Prevention experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Nursing, Public Health, Lab Sciences, Microbiology, or related health sciences field
- Fellow of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (FAPIC) within 2 years of hire
- Advanced Leadership Certification in IPC (AL-CIP) within 2 years of hire
- 10 or more years of Healthcare experience
- 10 or more years of Epidemiology or Infection Prevention experience
