Senior Industrial Safety Professional
About the role
Napakiak is seeking an accomplished Senior Industrial Safety Professional to lead comprehensive safety programs that support lean manufacturing, advanced production, testing operations, and laboratory activities. This role plays an essential role in ensuring safety is deeply embedded into operational systems, enabling high performance while protecting every member of the workforce.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and oversight of industrial safety programs to ensure full compliance with OSHA, EPA, and all applicable regulatory requirements.
- Conduct and facilitate Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), and comprehensive process risk assessments for existing operations, new equipment, pilot programs, and evolving workflows.
- Perform in-depth incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective/preventive action planning, accompanied by detailed and timely reporting.
- Maintain a strong daily presence on the floor through regular inspections, audits, and observations across manufacturing areas, laboratories, testing facilities, and outdoor operational spaces.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, operations, quality, and project teams to integrate safety into equipment design, installation, and process startup activities.
- Align safety practices with lean manufacturing initiatives, ensuring operational efficiency is achieved without compromising risk controls.
- Develop, deliver, and oversee training programs covering OSHA compliance, first aid, CPR, environmental health, and safe work practices.
- Mentor safety team members and actively promote a proactive, highly engaged safety culture throughout the organization.
- Support workers’ compensation documentation, reporting, and coordination.
- Maintain safety metrics, dashboards, records, and compliance documentation to meet internal and external requirements.
- Oversee workplace monitoring systems, inspections, and facility safety programs as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible industrial safety experience in manufacturing, production, laboratory, or testing environments.
- Demonstrated experience supporting new or evolving operations, including startups, pilot lines, or continuous improvement initiatives within lean systems.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910/1926, EPA requirements, and general occupational health principles.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
- Exceptional written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, accurate reports and documentation.
Qualifications
- Active U.S. government security clearance preferred; candidates who can obtain and maintain a clearance will also be considered.
- One or more professional credentials strongly preferred: CSP, ASP, OHST, CHST, CIH, or other BCSP‑recognized certifications.
- OSHA 30-hour (General Industry and/or Construction).
- First Aid and CPR certification required.
Skills
- Experience with HAZWOPER 40-hour, EHS certifications, and experience with industrial hygiene monitoring or advanced materials environments is desirable.
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, Engineering, or a related field preferred.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $120,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
The role is full-time, Monday through Friday, with standard business hours. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required based on operational needs.
