Senior Industrial Refrigeration Service Technician - Ammonia Focus
About the Opportunity
RSCS and MRC are seeking experienced ammonia refrigeration service technicians who can troubleshoot, service, and repair industrial ammonia refrigeration systems. This role requires real field-service experience and a commitment to safety and reliability.
Requirements
What You’ll Do:
- Troubleshoot, service, repair, and maintain industrial ammonia refrigeration systems
- Diagnose issues involving compressors, condensers, evaporators, pumps, valves, controls, VFDs, and related equipment
- Perform emergency service, leak response, preventive maintenance, system evaluations, and startup support
- Read and work from P&IDs, electrical schematics, and control drawings
- Communicate findings, repair needs, and recommendations clearly to customers and internal teams
- Complete accurate field documentation and follow strong safety practices on every job
- Help customers reduce downtime, improve reliability, and keep refrigeration systems operating as they should
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven industrial refrigeration field-service experience
- Hands-on experience with ammonia refrigeration systems required
- Strong troubleshooting skills and safe work habits
- Ability to work independently in the field while contributing to a professional team
- Experience with compressors, controls, valves, motors, electrical troubleshooting, and system startups strongly preferred

Pay
We use a tiered hourly pay scale across RSCS and MRC for technician roles:
Apprentice/Entry: $20–$30
Technician (Early-Career): $30–$40
Journeyman (Mid-Level): $40–$50
Senior/Field Supervisor: $50–$70 (top end reserved for highest-level Senior Ammonia Technicians and Field Supervisors)
Starting pay is based on verified experience, certifications, and job scope (including on-call/travel as applicable) and may vary by location due to local market and cost of living; hiring managers set the final starting rate within the appropriate tier.
