About the role
The ASSA ABLOY Door Group is seeking a Senior Industrial Engineer to support its expanding Region 4 operations. This role will focus on driving operational excellence, cost reduction, and process standardization across multiple sites.
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute continuous improvement initiatives across multiple manufacturing sites
- Partner with site leadership, operations, and engineering teams to drive efficiency gains, reduce waste, and scale best practices
- Provide multi-site Industrial Engineering support, improving throughput, efficiency, material flow, and layout
- Identify and drive cost reduction and productivity opportunities across labor, material, and capital investments
- Support and lead standardized work development and deployment, coaching teams on Lean principles and best practices
- Evaluate current processes and recommend equipment, tooling, and layout improvements to increase capacity and efficiency
- Partner on CAPEX projects, including justification, equipment selection, layout design, and implementation support
- Maintain a strong Gemba presence, working directly with operators, supervisors, and site leaders to drive sustainable operational improvements
- Support cross-functional collaboration
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and corporate policies, AADG programs, and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline
- 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Proven experience driving multi-site efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives
- Strong working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement tools, including Kaizen events and project leadership
- Demonstrated success driving cost savings, productivity improvements, and operational efficiencies
- Comfortable working on the manufacturing floor and influencing at all levels of the organization
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities across sites
- Limited travel required (50–75%) to support regional initiatives and site needs
Qualifications
- Lean or Six Sigma certification (Green Belt, Black Belt, or equivalent) preferred
- Experience supporting fabrication, machining, welding, assembly, or similar manufacturing processes preferred
